In a bid to promote sports among the students of Shakthi Residential School and Shakthi Pre-University College in Shakthinagar, the newly constructed Major Dhyan Chand Indoor Sports Complex was inaugurated today by Shri. Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament from Dakshina Kannada. The complex, built on an area of approximately 3000 sq.ft., includes stat- of-the-art facilities for indoor sports such as shuttle badminton, table tennis, chess, carrom, and other sports. The sports complex is also equipped with a well-designed lighting system.
From the academic year 2022-23 to 2024-25, 588 students from Shakthi Residential School and Shakthi Pre-University College’s sports department have brought honors to the institution at the district, state, and national levels in various sports including volleyball, kabaddi, shuttle badminton, table tennis, swimming, kickboxing, chess, karate, taekwondo, and more. Additionally, 29 students from the institution have been selected for the prestigious Khelo India program, further enhancing the institution’s reputation. In recognition of these achievements, the Founder of the institution, Dr. K.C. Naik, has named the indoor sports complex after Major Dhyan Chand, a legendary hockey player who won three Olympic gold medals for India before independence. The inauguration by Shri. Capt. Brijesh Chowta is a special occasion. The goal is for the students of Shakthi Vidya Institution to benefit from this facility and lead India to greater success in the field of sports.
During the event, Shri. Capt. Brijesh Chowta lit the lamp, unveiled the nameplate of the Major Dhyan Chand Indoor Sports Complex, and officially inaugurated the facility by playing shuttlecock with the students. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of setting high goals in life and striving to achieve excellence. Major Dhyan Chand, who achieved greatness with this mindset, is still synonymous with hockey. His legacy should be highlighted in school textbooks so that children learn more about him. Life comes only once, and we should live it with enthusiasm and without fear, just like Major Dhyan Chand did. Today, India is emerging as the world’s largest economic power. India has a rich cultural heritage, and students should learn about the great personalities who shaped this heritage. India is a unique country with a distinct culture and way of life, which has brought peace to the world. Leadership is needed in every field today. A true leader sets an example for others through actions and words, understands situations, and leads a team effectively. We should all develop a leadership mindset to prepare ourselves as future leaders. The land of Dakshina Kannada is sacred, and students from various districts studying here are fortunate. May this Shakthi Vidya Institution empower students and help them play a role in shaping a strong nation in the future, he wished.

ಶಕ್ತಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಗೊಂಡ ನೂತನ ಮೇಜರ್ ಧ್ಯಾನ ಚಂದ್ ಒಳಾಂಗಣ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಂಗಣ ಸಂಕೀರ್ಣದ ಲೋಕಾರ್ಪಣೆ
ಶಕ್ತಿನಗರದ ಶಕ್ತಿ ರೆಸಿಡೆನ್ಶಿಯಲ್ ಶಾಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಶಕ್ತಿ ಪದವಿ ಪೂರ್ವ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕ್ರೀಡೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುವ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೂತನ ಮೇಜರ್ ಧ್ಯಾನ ಚಂದ್ ಒಳಾಂಗಣ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಂಗಣದ ಸಂಕೀರ್ಣವನ್ನು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಕ್ಯಾ. ಬ್ರಿಜೇಶ್ ಚೌಟ ಇಂದು ಲೋಕಾರ್ಪಣೆಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಸಂಕೀರ್ಣವು ಸುಮಾರು 3000 ಚ.ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಒಳಾಂಗಣ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಟಲ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಡ್ಮಿಂಟನ್, ಟೇಬಲ್ ಟೆನ್ನಿಸ್, ಚೆಸ್, ಕ್ಯಾರಮ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರೆ ಕ್ರೀಡೆಗಳು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಸಜ್ಜಿತವಾದ ಹೊನಲು ಬೆಳಕಿನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಸಹ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
2022-23 ರ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ 2024-25 ನೇ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ವರ್ಷದ ವರೆಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿ ರೆಸಿಡೆನ್ಶಿಯಲ್ ಶಾಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಶಕ್ತಿ ಪದವಿ ಪೂರ್ವ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ವಿಭಾಗದ 588 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ, ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಲಿಬಾಲ್, ಕಬ್ಬಡಿ, ಶಟಲ್ ಬ್ಯಾಡ್ಮಿಂಟನ್, ಟೇಬಲ್ ಟೆನ್ನಿಸ್, ಈಜು, ಕಿಕ್ ಬಾಕ್ಸಿಂಗ್, ಚೆಸ್, ಕರಾಟೆ, ಟಾಯಿಕ್ವಾಂಡೊ ಮುಂತಾದ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ತಂದು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ 29 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಕ್ರೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ SGFI (School Games Federation Of India) ಗೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ತಂದಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಡಾ. ಕೆ. ಸಿ. ನಾೖಕ್‌ ಅವರು ಹಾಕಿ ಮಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಪೂರ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ 3 ಬಾರಿ ವಿಶ್ವ ಒಲಂಪಿಕ್ಸ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಪದಕವನ್ನು ತಂದು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಮೇಜರ್ ಧ್ಯಾನ ಚಂದ್ ಅವರ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಒಳಾಂಗಣ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಂಗಣವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಕ್ಯಾ. ಬ್ರಿಜೇಶ್ ಚೌಟರಿಂದ ಲೋಕಾರ್ಪಣೆಗೊಳಿಸಿರುವುದು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿದೆ. ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಶಕ್ತಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಇದರ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ಭಾರತವನ್ನು ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸಬೇಕೆಂಬುದು ಇವರ ಉದ್ದೇಶವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಯಾ. ಬ್ರಿಜೇಶ್ ಚೌಟರವರು ದೀಪ ಬೆಳಗಿಸಿ ಮೇಜರ್ ಧ್ಯಾನ ಚಂದ್ ಒಳಾಂಗಣ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಂಗಣದ ನಾಮ ಫಲಕವನ್ನು ಅನಾವರಣಗೊಳಿಸಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಜೊತೆ ಶಟಲ್ ಕಾಕ್ ಅಂಕಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಡುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಇವರು ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಅಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಗುರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಉನ್ನತವಾದ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಸಬೇಕು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಬೇಕು. ಇದೇ ತರಹ ಗುರಿಯಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದವರು ಮೇಜರ್ ಧ್ಯಾನ್ ಚಂದ್. ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಇಡಿ ವಿಶ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಧ್ಯಾನ್ ಚಂದ್ ಎಂದರೆ ಹಾಕಿ; ಹಾಕಿ ಎಂದರೆ ಧ್ಯಾನ್ ಚಂದ್. ಇವರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಶಾಲಾ ಪಠ್ಯ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಓದುವಂತಾಗಬೇಕು. ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನ ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಬರುವುದು. ಈ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಭಯ ಮುಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸಬೇಕು. ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಪೂರ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೈನ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಹಾಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಬದುಕಿದವರು ಮೇಜರ್ ಧ್ಯಾನ್ ಚಂದ್. ಇಂದು ಭಾರತ ವಿಶ್ವದ ಅತಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ, ಪರಂಪರೆ ಇದೆ. ಈ ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ರೂಪುಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಬೆಳೆಸಿದ ಮಹಾನ್ ಪುರುಷರ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಭಾರತ ಒಂದು ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಜೀವನ ಪದ್ಧತಿ ಇರುವ ದೇಶ. ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶ ವಿಶ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಶಾಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಟ್ಟ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟವಾದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ. ಇಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಯಕತ್ವದ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಇದೆ. ನಾಯಕನಾದವನು ನಡೆ ನುಡಿಗಳಿಂದ ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೆ ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ತಂಡವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುವವನೆ ನಿಜವಾದ ನಾಯಕ. ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ನಾಯಕತ್ವದ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ರೂಢಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ನಾಯಕರಾಗಿ ತಯಾರಾಗಬೇಕು. ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಈ ಮಣ್ಣು ಪವಿತ್ರವಾದ ಮಣ್ಣು. ರಾಜ್ಯದ ವಿವಿಧ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಿಂದ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಭಾಗ್ಯವಂತರು. ಈ ಶಕ್ತಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಿ. ಭವಿಷ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಧೃಢ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪಾತ್ರ ಇರಲಿ ಎಂದು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಶುಭ ಹಾರೈಸಿದರು. ಈ ಸಂಧರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರಾದ ರಮೇಶ್ ಕೆ. ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಶಕ್ತಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಸಾಧನೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಡಾ.ಕೆ. ಸಿ. ನಾೖಕ್‌ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿ ಶುಭ ಹಾರೈಸಿದರು, ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಜಿ ವಿಧಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಮೋನಪ್ಪ ಭಂಡಾರಿ, ವಿಶ್ವ ಹಿಂದೂ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಹೆಚ್. ಕೆ. ಪುರುಷೋತ್ತಮ, ವಕೀಲರಾದ ಪುರುಷೋತ್ತಮ ಭಟ್ ಮತ್ತು ಮಹೇಶ್ ಜೋಗಿ, ಶಕ್ತಿ ಪದವಿಪೂರ್ವ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಹೆಚ್. ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಶಕ್ತಿ ವಸತಿ ಶಾಲೆ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲೆ ಬಬಿತಾ ಸೂರಜ್ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಕನ್ನಡ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕ ಶರಣಪ್ಪರವರು ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿ ವಂದಿಸಿದರು.
