Founder

Hailing from an illustrious family from a village called Kodipady, Puthur in D.K. Dist, of Agriculturists with extensive land holdings, Dr. K.C.Naik a graduate of Commerce from Mysore University studied in Govt. College, Mangalore, ventured into business as early as 1961 and involved himself in diverse endeavors, such as transport contracts and civil construction work for PWD & KEB. His Mahabaleshwara Bus Services was serving Nationwide, with quality service Fame.  He has established Tread Rubber Factory, Canara Rubber Products Private Limited in 1974. (Then the name has been changed to Cantreds Private Ltd.) He has also established organization serving to Industries, The Sarosh Technical Services which also exporting quality Tread Rubber abroad.

He uses his rich experience to implement his policy of quality and transparency in business.

In 1989 Mr. K.C.Naik also entered Hotel Industry. Hotel Pentagon was established by him, and later he has disposed it.

He is married to Mrs. Saguna C. Naik with three children. His children are highly educated; his two daughters Mrs. Reshma Naik & Mrs. Ramya Naik are married and settled in U.S.A. for the past several years.  His son Mr. Sanjith Naik, who has taken over as the Executive Director of the firm Mahabaleshwara Promoters & Builders Pvt. Ltd. is a qualified architect from Manipal Institution of Technology and also an MBA – from Texas State University – San Marcos, USA.

A well traveled man and an enthusiastic golfer; and he had the privileged of  Captain of Mangalore Golf Club.

Besides Mr. K.C.Naik’s business activities, he is also a Philanthropist known to have a generous helping hand and built Sri Gopalakrishna Temple using his own funds which was inaugurated on 30th April 2007,  In Shakthi Nagar and Thousands of piligrims visit this Temple.

He has established Shri Gopalakrishna Charitable Trust and serving the needy. The Trust is donating generously to upgrade the downtrodden Shakthi Nagar. He has donated vehicle to Local Govt.  School for the school children to facilitate the poor to educate their children.

He is also donating generously by kind and cash to ‘Anganavadi’ of Shakthinagar area. He also donating books to School children of local Govt. school.

Few of his charity works are as follows:

♦  ‘Anna Dana’ (Mass Feeding) at Temple.

♦  Donating to places of Worship of different areas.

♦  Overall development of Shakthinagar.

♦  Constructed Roads at interior places of Shakthinagar.

Milestones in his Career 

  • 1961- Mahalingeshwara Lorry Services
  • 1964 – One of the earliest industrialists/tour operators in Mangalore, he started a luxury bus service under the name ‘Mahabaleshwara Bus Service’. This company catered to inter-city / state bus service (between Mangalore – Bangalore, Mangalore – Bombay, Mangalore – Goa etc). It became his flagship enterprise at that time and Mahabaleshwara is a name synonymous with inter state luxury travel even today.
  • 1974 – Exploring other opportunities in 1974, Naik diversified into the industrial arena with ‘Canara Rubber and Rubber Products (P) Ltd’ under the brand name ‘CANTREADS’. It catered to the re-treading markets both domestic & export markets.  The company name has been subsequently changed into ‘CANTREADS PRIVATE LTD’.  In each of the fields that he ventured into, he made his mark, thereby sharpening instincts for success. Established Sarosh Technical Services, serving Technical need and Expoted Pre Cured Tread Tubber to abroad.
  • 1974 – He made his venture into real estate. His maiden project was ‘Mahabaleshwara Commercial Complex’, located at Mallikatte, Mangalore.  Needless to say, he utilised his midas touch and the complex has become a landmark.
  • 1979 – Received the National Award Udyog Patra for the Outstanding Entrepreneur of the year 1979 from the then Vice President of India, Sri. B.D. Jatti. 
  • 1992 – Mangalore City witnessed rapid development and a paradigm shift in urban city lifestyle. As the demand for residential property increased, the shift from independent houses to apartments began.  C. Naik was one of the first to respond to the emerging opportunity Mahabaleshwara Promoters & Builders Pvt. Ltd. was formed. 
  • 2001 – K.C. Naik is the founder President of Kanara Builders Association in 2001 and the Former President of CREDAI.  He is also the secretary of Vikas College of Physiotherapy and Vice President of SDM College of Business Management.
  • 2004 – Mahabaleshwara Promoters & Builders Pvt. Ltd & Sarosh  Technical Services received the ISO 9001:2000 Certificate for quality.
  • Chairman of Credai, Mangalore
  • 2007 – Established Sri Gopalakrishna Temple at Shakthinagar.
  • 2007 – Shri K. C. Naik is also a keen golfer, he is a member of Pilikula Golf Club and also Karnataka Golf Association, Bangalore.
